Blood Angels List Fun

...lol

Hey folks!  After all the madness of going to the Bugeater and BoLSCon, I've been facing a pretty strong feeling of 'meh' when it comes to Warhammer.  I guess you could say that I'm semi-burned out, though my apathy somehow doesn't extend into making new lists up and trying to figure out how to play the DEldar better. :-p

Soon I'll be writing up an overview on my thoughts of the DEldar, after having played them for 20ish games.  But that'll be either tomorrow or Monday.  Today I want to share a Blood Angels list I spammed out.  It has something I've never really cared much for:  namely, lots of Predators.

Let's take a look:

2000 Points of Awesome Blood Angels

Librarian w/ Jump Pack, Shield, Unleash Rage

Sanguinary Priest w/ Jump Pack

Predator w/ Autocannon, Las Cannon Sponsons

Yes, yes.  I know it's spammy.  To be honest, what list of mine doesn't have some element of spam?  Gotta have that delicious redundancy, right?

Oh wait... you've already seen like 10 million similar lists to this, and my ideas are nothing new? ... somehow I can't bring myself to care very much.  I've never actually seen someone play this many predators/assault marines in combination.  Never ever! heh

So how does this list work?  Well...
  • Auto/Las Preds shoot lots of stuff
  • Assault Squads charge and kill lots of stuff
  • Baal Preds kill whatever they feel like besides AV14 (unless they feel like it)
  • I win, because the enemy doesn't have any guys left :-p
Heh, well seriously, it's really pretty straightforward:  the Preds and Assault Marines move up together, or stay back, depending on who they're playing (assault or shooty).  40 RAS w/ FNP/FC can put a pretty sizable dent into most units in close combat, and if they can't, at least their Meltaguns will help with shooting.

The (fast!) Preds just stay moving, shooting things at random.  Maths-wise, the Baal Preds' combined firepower (assuming they each get full shots and each can shoot in a given round) will kill 5-6 marines (or 8 orks in cover, haha).  That's equivalent to a Longfang squad every turn :-p

Las Cannons + Autocannons shooting every turn will eventually open up most transports.

... and the assault marines (who start on the board, most times, by the way, NOT doing the DoA thing, though that is an option) provide either some excellent counter-charges, or make it really tough for the enemy to choose whether to kill your AV13, or 40 FNP Marines on their doorstep, ready to charge.  Their Fist + FC + FNP makes them pretty rough on IG Tanklines- even 20 assault marines is a lot to have to deal with!

There's 8 meltaguns in the army- should be enough to kill AV14 if needed, and the Las Cannons can at least count as backup if needed.

Meh.

That's the thinking.  The other thinkings are that I could replace some Baal Preds with 3 MM Attack bikes, for a little more anti-tank, though honestly I think I'm doing alright in the tank-wtfpwning department.

Libby hangs out and uses his bubble of 5+ cover save awesomeness on at least some of the vehicles, or making one squad 'uber' by giving them Preferred Enemy (or both, really).

Oh yeah, one other cool thing- Assault Marines grouped up can provide a 4+ cover save to the Preds on turn 1, in return getting the 5+ cover save from the Libby, should the need/whim arise. lol

Thoughts?  Concerns?  Questions?

Kind of random- I haven't made a BA list that I like (i.e. seems fun to play) for a long time.  I think it's because I was stuck on trying to make CML Terminators w/ FNP work, HAHA :-p

Alright, I'm outro.

I'll return to the regularly scheduled dose of Dark Eldar tomorrow (or Monday), as previously threatened.
