More fun with lists: Marines + Marines + Inquisition 1750

Or, you know, win a GT
Alright, more fun with the new Inquisition book! Last time I posted a list I talked about the awesomeness of scouting Bikes up with the Liber Hereticus relic on a Malleus Inquisitor. While this obviously makes bikes a little better, I have since decided that Bikes aren't really very awesome. Sure, they have good elements to them, but aren't quite what I'm looking for. Not quite resilient enough for their points, or as hard-hitting as I would like. Also, for a guy who enjoys the combat phase, these guys just kind of make it unenjoyable with their lackluster performance.

So, I've played around with a few new lists, and tried to discover what I could replace the Bikes with. The answer is that I like the Chapter Master on a Bike just a little too much to part with him, hence only giving me about 260 points to play around with.

BoLSGamesCon Mirror Match Tournament Report (with pictures!)

Hello all, how's it all going?  Today I'm writing some (somewhat brief) battle reports for the Mirror Match tournament that I played on Friday at BoLSGamesCon.  It was a fun time, as it has always been in Austin- I'll give feedback on the tournament itself a little bit later in this post.

It's kind of a shorter report, but mostly complete and with lots of pictures- you'll see.

Now, for those of you who don't know what the Mirror Match tournament is, I'll give you a quick run-down:
  • Everyone had the same 1500 point Codex: Space Marines list
  • Every single table had nearly the exact same terrain
  • We used missions out of the book, nothing fancy or necessarily hard to accomplish at all
Essentially, the tournament is supposed to be able to prove who the best 'pure player' is, since the boards are all the same, as are the lists.

Here's the list everyone used:

Random List Fun: Vanilla Marines MSU and then some... Nids?

Hey folks, how's it hangin?  I've been swamped with projects being due at school, and studying for finals, and all that awesome stuff, so my content has been somewhat lacking of late.  However, I've been playing around with Army Builder for breaks, since I only take short ones, and have created a few lists that, while I'll probably never make them, are worth discussing.

Weekly Battle Report #11: Salamanders vs. Ironclad Spam (With Pictures!)

Hey there folks, bet you forgot about the Weekly Battle Reports!  I've actually been doing pretty well at giving you battle reports weekly, though they haven't been labeled as such.  Lots of tournaments have been the name of the game lately, though this week gets to see the return of my erstwhile Salamanders.  If you want more reports of the Salamanders, there is a Battle Reports Link on the top right side of the blog.  Lots and lots of reports on there, actually, not limited to just Salamanders.

This battle was played over 2 months ago, so expect a little rust from my memory on what exactly happened.  First, let's go with the lists:

Weekly Battle Report #10: Salamanders vs. Khan Double Raider List

Hey there folks, time for the next installment in my Weekly Battle Reports!  Today pits my Salamanders against Vince's Double Raider Khan outflank list of doom!  Vince got best general at the last Tacticon (a 40-person event) and has placed well in other various events.  Read on to see how my Green Tide does (see what I did there?)

Weekly Battle Report #9: Salamanders vs. Triple-Raider Blood Angels

Hey there good folks!  How's the day?  Figured since the semester is starting up finally, I'd kick the 'weekly' battle reports off again.  Today brings my (rather mediocre thus far) Salamanders against my pal Eric, who ran Tau against me in a couple previous battle reports (click on the battle reports log link in the upper right of the blog to find them) and with split results against each other.  This time he was playing around with Blood Angels, testing out an AV 13/14 wall.  Click on to see the action!

Weekly Battle Report #8: Salamanders vs. New Dark Eldar Raider Spam

Hey there folks!  How's it going?  Sorry for taking so long to post my next 'weekly' battle report, it's been a crazy couple weeks of break (mostly from painting and spending time with my wifey's family), but I'm hoping to neglect this blog no longer, though it might not get the attention it deserves until break is really truly over (in another 1.5 weeks, lol)

So, today's battle report pits me against Dark Eldar once again.  It's a rematch against the same guy from the last battle report.  He apparently drew the same conclusion as I did, that wyches and grotesques suck, and changed his list accordingly.  Real quick, here's the link to all my other battle reports.  Here's his list that he used:

Weekly Battle Report #7: Salamanders vs. New Dark Eldar

Hey there folks, whats up!  Today's battle report sees my Salamanders face off against a skimmer-heavy Dark Eldar army.  Fun times had by all, this was only my second time playing this army.  It's somewhat apparent that I'm grossly inexperienced in using Land Raiders, as you'll soon see.  Still, it's for sure a good game, and as you'll see, it turned into a pretty good battle.

Weekly Battle Report #6: Salamanders vs. Ork Horde

What's up everyone!  As promised, I'm starting to use a different army other than my over-used Wolfstar.  I wasn't really tired of the list, but it's always been my intention to play the Salamanders once they were finished, and I finally got them done.  This game is a fun one for Salamanders, with lots of targets to try and flamer and such.  As always, there are pictures.  Read on, for the report!

Why I love Attack Bikes

Well, after getting an overwhelmingly huge response from my readers on the various battle reports I wrote, I figured I'd write a tactica (of sorts) on Attack Bikes and why they rock.
