'Ard Boyz 40k Prelims Battle Report (with pictures!)

Oh, ironic Orks.  When will you be 'Ard again?

Howdy folks!  Last weekend, as many of you know, was the 'Ard Boyz Prelim event, held in a ton of different gaming stores across the country.  I was actually on vacation visiting my family in southern Washington when the event happened, and as such I was forced to play in a different store than my normal LGS- somewhere I had never before played.

'Ard Boyz and the Return of the Wolfstar

The Wolfstar wishes they were badass enough to kill the Emperor
Well, 'Ard Boyz is upon us.  I've honestly given it very little thought with the impending Nova Open coming up and my fixation on trying to figure out Dark Eldar.

That being said, I don't really have any

Weekly Battle Report #13: Wolfstar vs. Duke's Paladinstar! (With Pictures!)

Hey there folks!  Today I've got a fun one for you- I pulled my Wolfstar out of retirement, to try and give Duke (he posts on BoLS, and has his own blog here) a competitive game for practice for upcoming BoLSCON.  He also did a report on this game, so for his take (he's got video of it too!), go to this link.

Alright, first, let's get some lists up.

Tournament Report: Adepticon 40k Championships (with pictures!)

Howdy there folks!  I recently went to Adepticon, and competed in a few different events.  One of them was the 40k Championships on Friday, and today I want to give you the battle reports for that day.  I brought my Wolfstar list (it'll be a little further down), and the goal of the day was to 'qualify' for day two.

In order to qualify, you had to win 4 games in a row in Friday, or have a draw and win 3.  In each game, there were three different objectives, and you had to have accomplished more objectives than your opponent.  For example, the three could be 1) Killpoints 2) kill your opponent's unit that you selected at the start of the game 3) control more of the 6 objectives on the table than your opponent.

Tournament Report: Feast of Blades FINALS (with pictures!)

Howdy folks!  How's it going?  So, I've been talking up this Feast of Blades tournament a lot, and won my qualifiers a few weeks ago.  Here's the link to that article.  The finals (at Stonebridge games in Longmont, CO) were last weekend, and I brought the exact same list as I did for the qualifiers.  In fact, I hadn't played for the 2 weeks wait it took between the Qualifiers and the Finals, due to a mix of school and spring break.

So, it was a fun tournament.  Lots of really good players- I mean, everyone who was there had taken either 1st or 2nd at their own qualifiers in order to get there.  Of the people who qualified originally, ZERO of them opted out and let someone with a lower place go in their stead.  Lots of really good players.

The tournament made use of Battle Points and

Feast of Blades Qualifier Tournament Report

Hey folks, I wrote up a battle report on my Feast of Blades experience, with all 3 games included.  However, it's on Jawaball's blog and not this one, so I figured I'd link you over there, if you actually read my stuff but not his.

Here's the link.  Let me know what you think, either here or over on the 'big time' blog :-p

Army Profile: Wolfstar

Hey there folks, how's it going?  Today I wanted to do something I've been wanting to do for a while- talk about my Wolfstar list, and what I think makes it tick.  It's also a good reference that I can link to, so I don't need to talk about it in every post to give context.  I might even add some pictures to it!

Genghis Con Warhammer 40k GT Report (with pictures!)

Well, it's been over a week since the fact, and I'm finally getting around to the daunting task of posting up five battle reports in a single post.  Hopefully you guys like it- it's going to be a pain in the ass :)

Genghis Con has traditionally been *the* big tournament in Colorado, and though there are other tournaments who are seeking to take their place (Feast of Blades and Horustooth Heresy), as of right now, this is the big one.  The prize support has almost always been lacking, but to win Genghis or Tacticon (the other big tournament, held 6 months from each other by the DGA) has always been a rather prestigious affair.

Tournament Report: 1850 Wolves at Practicon RTT

Howdy everyone, how's it going?  I have lots of tournaments coming up soon, and though I took pictures of this RTT I was in, I really don't know when I'll be getting up to doing it.  This weekend is Genghis (which is a local 40k GT + a Fantasy tournament on Sunday), so I'll be writing 8 (yes, 8) battle reports for that.  A couple weeks later, I'll have the Feast of Blades (heh, Fest of Blades is more like it).  So, lots of battle reports, and this one kind of fell by the wayside.

Weekly Battle Report #5: Wolfstar vs. Tau Broadside Spam, take 2

Hi there folks, it's time for my Weekly Battle Report!  Today we see my Wolfstar facing off against Eric's Broadside spam Tau list, for the second time (he wanted a rematch).  Here's the link to our last battle.  Alright, lets start it up.

Weekly Battle Report #4: Wolfstar vs. Chaos Marines

Hey there folks, it's time for the weekly battle report!  This week brings my wolfstar face to face against an optimized Chaos Space Marine list.  Before this game, I had never actually played against Chaos, despite how much I've played my current list.  As a sidenote, very soon I'll have a different army to play as- the wolfstar as it currently is will be played no more.  Lots of updates to my wolves I want to make.

Weekly Battle Report #3: Wolfstar vs. Tau Broadside Spam

This week I have another battle report using my Wolfstar Space Wolf list against the local Tau player.  He's got 6 Broadsides, which is a great way to threaten my Wolfstar, with all the S10 available to him.  Will the Tau kick my hiney?  Keep reading to find out.  Or just skip to the end, lol.

Weekly Battle Report #2: Wolfstar vs. Khan Double Land Raiders

Hello, and welcome to my 2nd weekly battle report!  I'm trying to give a battle report every week, and though I won't always use the same army, you'll have plenty of battle reports from which to see how my various lists play.  Here's a link to my battle reports page and to my previous week battle report.  The game I played today was against a double Land Raider list with Khan outflanking shenanigans, played by my buddy Vince.

Weekly Battle Report #1: Wolfstar vs. New Dark Eldar

Well, finally got a game in against the new Dark Eldar, with my friend CJ playing a proxy game with his actual Eldar army models.  None of the proxys are TOO outlandish, and we wanted to see what the new book could do.  So, he made a list and we threw down.

Tacticon Tournament Report

This weekend was Tacticon, one of the semi-annual 'big' events in the area.  There are usually anywhere from 40-60 players in the 40k, and somewhere in the 30 to 40 range in the Fantasy the next day.  Since I hadn't painted my Fantasy in time, I decided to make it a day trip down to the con for 40k.  I took a bunch of pictures too, feel free to click on them to make them bigger.

BoLSCON Tournament Report

Well, here it is, in all its beauty.  This writeup will contain all 3 days of my tournament, including 5 (very very short) warmachine reports, 7 40k reports, and my overall thoughts of the tournament.  Buckle in, because this is going to be a very long post.
